What We Believe:
About the Word
We believe that the Bible, all sixty-six books in the old and new testaments, is the true written message of God to us. We believe the authors of the Bible were inspired by God and are therefore completely trust-worthy. We believe that the Bible is the final authority on all matters to which it speaks. {Psalm 19:7-11, 119:105; Matthew 5:18; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21}
About God
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, equal in power, glory and nature. {Genesis 1:1, 26, 27; Deut 6:4; II Cor. 13:14} We believe the person of Jesus is both one hundred percent God, and one hundred percent man. We believe he is God brought to earth, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin. We believe he died on the cross to pay a debt he did not owe in order to satisfy the debt we could not pay (our sins). We believe that Jesus Christ is seated in the heavens at the right hand of God as a representative, intercessor and advocate for us. We believe he is coming back again to judge the living and the dead and to establish his kingdom.
We believe that the Holy Spirit is a person who convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment; He is the Supernatural Agent in regeneration, baptizing all believers into the body of Christ, indwelling and sealing them unto the day of redemption. We further believe His power and gifts are available to believers today. {John 16:8–11; 2 Corinthians 3:6; 1 Corinthians 12:12–14; Romans 8:9; Ephesians 5:18}
About Man
We believe that man is made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. He is the pinnacle of God’s creation, created to fellowship with Him. We believe that through Adam’s sin the race fell, inherited a sinful nature, and became alienated from God.
About Eternity
We believe that man was created to exist forever. He will either exist forever in fellowship with God by salvation through Christ, or he will exist forever in opposition to him and separated from him. To exist in his fellowship is heaven; to be separated from him is hell. Both heaven and hell are eternal places.
About Salvation
We believe that salvation is a gift from God to man. Man can never make up for his sin by self improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer for forgiveness can man be fully restored or saved from sin’s penalty. Man’s restoration to God’s kingdom for eternity begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith. There is no other way for man to spend eternity with God except through faith in Christ. {Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8,9; John 14:6, 1:12; Titus 3:5}
